The '''[[Azalea Parade]]''' took place on Saturday, May 27, in 2023. As usual, PBARC provided radio communications. Cindy KJ7JTF was ICP1 (Incident Command Post 1) on the {{840}} and {{N7SGV}} was ICP2 on the {{960}}.


Volunteers should arrive at Trinity Lutheran Church (1200 Easy St.) by {{time|08|00}}. Please wear your yellow vest, and remember to bring your [[HT]] and a spare battery! It is best to avoid using a Baofeng or similar inexpensive radio if you have another option, but a Baofeng will work if it is all you have. Also, it is a good idea to bring an earpiece for your radio as there will by significant background noise. After the parade ends, volunteers should return to the church parking lot for the debrief/"hot wash."
Parade marshals' golf carts carried [[APRS]] trackers this year; the goal was to allow ICP to see a near-live map of the marshals' locations.

After everyone has arrived at their assigned locations, we will conduct radio checks before the parade begins. The Azalea Parade took place on Saturday, May 27, in 2023. As usual, PBARC provided radio communications. Cindy KJ7JTF was ICP1 (Incident Command Post 1) on the Crown Terrace repeater (146.840 MHz, - offset, 88.5 Hz tone) and Template:N7SGV was ICP2 on the Harbor Hills repeater (146.960 MHz, - offset, 88.5 Hz tone).

Parade marshals' golf carts carried APRS trackers this year; the goal was to allow ICP to see a near-live map of the marshals' locations.
